Therapy Sound · How it works

First time? Read this.

Therapy Sound is Vancouver's guide to music and nightlife — house, techno, live shows and more at venues across the city, plus our own nights. Whether you're rolling in solo for the door list or booking a table for eight, here's how the four ways in work at our nights, plus the practical stuff nobody tells you the first time.

Section 01 · Ways in

Four ways through the door.

For Therapy Sound's own nights, there are four ways in: a name on the door list, a reserved table, a birthday set-up, or a private group block. Times and cutoffs are on each event page.

Free · Name at door

Guest List

The default. Drop your name and party size, show ID at the door, walk in. No cover, no guaranteed seat — standing room on the floor.

What's included
  • Free entry before the cutoff
  • Skip the “not on the list” check-in
  • RSVP before the cutoff — times are on each event page
Reserve →
Paid · Reserved seating

Section 02 · Practical bits

The stuff you'd ask a friend.

Doors, age, dress, transit, parking, accessibility — tap any row to expand. No JavaScript required.

Doors & set times

It depends on the event. We list nights at venues across Vancouver, and each one sets its own door and set times.

Check the event page — the venue, address and times are listed there.

Age & ID

19+ only — Vancouver liquor licensing. Bring government photo ID (driver's licence, passport, BC ID card). Expired ID won't work.

Dress code

Dress codes vary by venue and event. Check the event page for details.

If none is listed, dress for the venue.

Transit

It depends on the venue — the venue and address are listed on each event page.

SkyTrain stops running around 1am, so check current TransLink times and plan your ride home if you're staying late.

Parking

Parking depends on the venue — check the event page for the venue and address.

Always read the street signs; rules and pay hours vary block to block.

Accessibility

Accessibility varies by venue. The venue for each event is listed on its event page.

If you need a reserved seat or extra access, email hello@therapysound.ca ahead of the night and we'll help where we can.

Bag check & ID

Coat + bag check and door policies are set by each venue and event — check the event page for details.

Expect door staff to check ID and maybe do a quick bag look — standard for a licensed venue.

Re-entry

Re-entry rules are set by each venue and event.

Check the event page, or ask door staff on the way out before you step away.

Section 03 · Trust & safety

Buy with confidence.

Nightlife is full of fake-ticket DMs and e-transfer scams. Here's how to make sure the ticket you buy is the real one.

Do you sell tickets for every event?

No. Most events listed here are run by other organizers, and their tickets are sold on the organizer's own ticket page. Each event page links you straight there.

We sell tickets directly only for some Therapy Sound partner events. Those are bought on therapysound.ca and come with a real QR code scanned at the door.

How do I avoid ticket scams?

Only buy from the official seller: therapysound.ca for the events we sell, or the organizer's ticket page that the event page links to. We'll never DM you asking for an e-transfer in exchange for entry. The only e-Transfer we accept is one you start yourself in checkout here, sent to hello@therapysound.ca. If someone offers tickets or "guest-list spots" that way — on Instagram, in a group chat, anywhere — it's a scam.

Not sure if a message is really from us? Email help@therapysound.ca before you send anyone money.

What's your refund policy?

For tickets bought on therapysound.ca: if an event is cancelled, you're refunded in full — back to the card you used, typically within 3–5 business days. No forms to chase.

Tickets bought from another organizer follow their refund policy, so contact them directly.

Bought the wrong ticket or can't make it? Email help@therapysound.ca and we'll sort it out.

Is checkout secure?

Yes. Payments are processed by Square — your card details are entered directly into Square's secure form and never touch our servers.

What happens after I buy?

You'll get an instant confirmation by email (and SMS if you added your number) with your QR ticket. It also lands in your ticket wallet — screenshot the QR or open it at the door, and you're in.

Section 04 · After the night

It doesn't end at last call.

Recordings and photos from our nights post within a day or two — here's where to find them.
